Neymar gave the ball away a staggering 46 times in Barcelona’s draw with Juventus… more than any other player in the Champions League this season

NEYMAR has been enjoying arguably his best season as a Barcelona player in 2016-17.

But even he was unable to prove to be the difference as Luis Enrique’s La Liga giants failed to produce yet another Champions League miracle on Wednesday night.

Trailing 3-0 from the first leg against Juventus, Barca headed back to the Nou Camp full of hope that they could create more history, after the stunning comeback over Paris Saint-Germain in March.

However, despite enjoying 65 per cent of possession and taking 19 shots – with just ONE on target – Barcelona were unable to break down the stubborn Juve wall.

And Neymar may be more to blame than most…

After all, the Brazilian forward, 25, gave the ball away 46 times during the game - the most of anyone in the Champions League this season.

Needing to keep hold of the ball in order to link up with his famous MSN colleagues - Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez - Neymar was completely unable to break down the Italian side.

His 46 occurrences of surrendering the ball beats the next-highest tally this season - also set by him, by five.

Neymar gave the ball away 41 times against Borussia Monchengladbach in the group stage back in September.

FC Kobenhavn's Ludwig Augustinsson comes in third, giving the ball away 40 times against Leicester in October, before Neymar breaks into the top five for a THIRD time.

The Barca man coughed up possession 38 times against Paris Saint-Germain in the famous 6-1 win last month.

Neymar left the game in floods of tears, clearly distraught to be sent packing from Europe's elite competition early once again.

Once again fierce rivals Real Madrid had earlier made it through to the semi-finals after a controversial extra-time win over Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

They are looking to make it three titles in four years, as they set a record seventh straight appearance in the last-four.
