Neymar apologises for Edinson Cavani penalty row after PSG team-mate Dani Alves takes pair out for meal

NEYMAR has apologised to Edinson Cavani and the rest of his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates after rowing over a penalty, according to reports.

The Brazilian fumed he had to step aside for regular spot-kick taker Cavani during the 2-0 win over Lyon on Sunday.

Both came to blows and reports have since suggested Neymar wants his Uruguayan team-mate SOLD after the missed penalty.

The £198million man later unfollowed Cavani on Instagram – only fanning the flames of the tempestuous relationship.

But L’Equipe report that the former Barcelona ace issued a grovelling apology to his team-mates in training on Wednesday, with countryman and captain Thiago Silva acting as translator.

Dani Alves was at the heart of the row when he took the ball away from Cavani – PSG’s top scorer with seven goals – and handed it to his compatriot.

But the veteran left-back, who joined the French giants on a free this summer, reportedly took both players out for dinner this week in a bid to have them bury the hatchet.

It is believed the clear-the-air talks during the meal are what prompted Neymar, 25, to eat humble pie in training.

He and former Napoli star Cavani, 30, were seen playing together in training and even helping each other to warm up, suggesting any animosity is gone.

PSG take on Montpellier on Saturday and the Ligue 1 attacking pair will be looking to extend the club's three-point lead at the top.
