NEWCASTLE UNITED are in for Swansea winger Modou Barrow, but face competition from Aston Villa.
The Magpies are on the hunt for a winger this month to help maintain the push for an immediate return to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old wide man has been frozen out at the Liberty stadium since the arrival of new boss Paul Clement.
The Newcastle Evening Chronicle are reporting Magpies boss Rafa Benitez has earmarked the Gambian international as an alternative to Crystal Palace attacker Andros Townsend, who is keen to return to Tyneside.

Palace are refusing to budge on the structure of the deal to take the England international back to St James Park.
So Benitez could turn his attention to Barrow who has failed to impress this season despite featuring in 19 games for the Swans this season.

The winger has Championship experience after loan stints with Blackburn and Nottingham Forest, so the chance to help the Toon return to the top flight could kick start his career.
United will be up against Aston Villa for Barrow who has a £5million release clause and the west midlands outfit could use Jordan Ayew as bait to conclude the deal.
