The German has been a long-term interest of Wenger but snubbed the Gunners in the latest transfer windowGetty Images
Since making the move to the Parc des Princes last month, the 23-year-old German international has thrived in the French capital, scoring four times in five games in all competitions.
His form will come as a blow to Wenger who has been following his career for a few years and was believed to be close to signing him many times.
Draxler and Ozil know each-other well as they are international team-mates and were both in the Schalke youth set-up at the same time.
However when Draxler broke into the first team, Ozil made the switch to Spain with giants Real Madrid.
With no agreement in place for Ozil to sign a new deal, the lure of a new league and guaranteed trophies could be tempting for the former Werder Bremen man.
