And it is no wonder because the 20-year-old is the spitting image of the Liverpool star.

Hussein currently plays as a striker for Al Zawraa club but his fame has inspired him to follow in Salah’s footsteps.

Speaking to the National, he said: “We play in the same position and I do everything to imitate and copy his movements,

“He reads the Quran and he asks God to help him before his matches. I also read the Quran and pray,”

Hussein, who purchased an authentic Liverpool shirt to add to his image, admitted that he can’t walk down the street anymore without being flocked by members of the public.

Fans even told him to ‘get well soon’ after Salah dislocated his shoulder during the Champions League final.

He added: “When I played against the Lebanese club Al Ahed, people were taking photos with me for an hour and a half.

“The day before yesterday I was in a mall; the security guards, the shop workers and the clients, everyone wanted to take a photo with me… even the girls!

“When Mohamed Salah was injured, there were some who came to see me as if it was me who was suffering,

“In my neighbourhood, over a number of days, people who passed me would say ‘Get well soon’.”

Meanwhile Egypt boss Hector Cuper had words of encouragement for fans and suggests Salah could even play in the opening fixture.

He said: “We’ve had good news from our doctor – we hope he will be with us before Uruguay.

“We are optimistic and we are doing our best.

“In this stage of his recovery it is not just treatment for his shoulder, but we also need to improve his stamina and fitness level because the injury has prevented him to train like normal.”
