MMA icon Kimbo Slice to be honoured by son with London debut for Bellator one year after tragic death
MMA legend and YouTube sensation Kimbo Slice will be represented at Bellator 179 in London on May 20 by son Baby Slice, almost a year since his tragic early death.
Kimbo – real name Kevin Ferguson – was an YouTube phenomenon in the early 2000’s when films of his unlicensed fights drew over 10million views and attracted MMA promotions.

The heavyweight’s huge following earned him a spell in the UFC and a professional boxing career before he joined Bellator in 2015.
The father of six was due to fight James Thomson in July 2016 – with the pre-fight media build-up showing a loving father – much at odds with the fearsome reputation.

Now, almost a year since Kimbo’s scheduled London debut and sad passing, his son will get the chance to fight in front of UK fans for the first time.
Slice Jr will fight DJ Griffin at Wembley Arena in honour of his iconic dad.
The hero's offspring is gearing up for his second fight after losing his debut in November 2016.
Baby Slice said: “I am so excited to get back to work and show the world how hard I've been grinding.
“On a personal level, this fight means a lot to me.
"Not only because I'll be making my Bellator main card debut but because I get to show the people in London how a Slice gets down.
“Just like Pop's told me, keep your guard up, and stand your ground - I'm going to Slice this Griffin guy up real bad.”
