MERSEYSIDE Police have poked fun at the half-and-half scarf brigade.
A tweet from the Force’s official account called for fans to stop asking for them to make arrests over the football faux pas.

They posted an initial message to their 121,000 followers with the usual safety advice ahead of tonight’s FA Cup clash between local rivals Liverpool and Everton.
Nine minutes later a post appeared beneath it requested for supporters to stop asking for them to get tough over half-and-half scarves.
The post read: “Before we get asked again, no we can’t arrest anyone wearing half and half scarves as it’s not illegal…….. yet”.
It is not the first time that a police force has joked about the scarves.
