MARCO ASENSIO is set to sign a new Real Madrid contract with what seems a now relatively modest £136million buy-out clause, according to reports.
The 21-year-old is considered one of the hottest prospects in world football after he followed an incredible breakthrough season with some dazzling performances at the European Under-21 Championship.

And Mundo Deportivo report he is set to extend his current deal, which will see his buy-out clause increased from £72m to £136m.

However, Neymar’s £198m move to Paris Saint-Germain means Asensio is by no means unobtainable.
The Brazilian striker’s incredible transfer to the Ligue 1 side has brought to light the frailty of the buy-out clause system in Spanish football.
If the price is met, the selling club are powerless to prevent the move.
However, Florentino Perez was always one step ahead — with any Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale or Karim Benzema suitors needing to stump up a whopping £900m to sign one of the trio.
While Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have £450m buy-out clauses, as will Isco when his new contract is confirmed.

The new Golden Boy of Spain is unlikely to want to leave Real Madrid, however, given how he could become the focal point of the team for years to come.
His eight-minute cameo in last season’s Champions League final yielded the fourth goal against Juventus.
