MANCHESTER UNITED defender Matteo Darmian could be on his way out of Old Trafford in January.
Darmian, 26 joined United from Torino for £12million in 2015 and enjoyed a promising start to his career at Old Trafford under former boss Louis Van Gaal.

However the Italian full back has fallen down the pecking order under new manager Jose Mourinho.

The defender has been restricted to just one appearance this season in the embarrassing Europa League defeat to Feyenoord.

Darmian featured in every game for Italy at Euro 2016 and his lack of playing time will not have gone unnoticed by new national team boss Giampiero Ventura.

The defender’s agent Fausto Pari has admitted his player may have no choice but to move on in January.
"We've got to see what United want to do. Italian clubs have tried to sign him, but United closed the door immediately." Pari told Italian station Radio CRC.

"He's playing little or nothing and it's a shame because he's an Italy international. If the situation doesn't change by January, we'll have to think of something. He risks also losing his place in the national team."
Darmian could be one of a number of players on borrowed time at Old Trafford.

Dutch attacker Memphis Depay has failed to live up to expectations after his £25million move from PSV Eindhoven alongside Marcos Rojo and England defender Phil Jones who has been plagued with injuries during his five years at United.
