Manchester United transfer news: Gary Neville urges Jose Mourinho to sell stars who were part of ‘bad spending’ in post-Alex Ferguson years

GARY NEVILLE says that Jose Mourinho must axe some of his players that Manchester United that “do not fit the profile” of the club.

The United legend believes that boss Mourinho  – who guided United to a 4-1 win over Leicester on Saturday – still plenty of work to do at Old Trafford to fix problems caused by “bad spending” by gaffers David Moyes and Louis van Gaal after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

United spent over £150million this summer, but Paddy McNair was the only first-team player sold.

Neville, 41, said: “He’s unravelling what’s gone on here in the last three years with what I think has been bad spending by the club, simple as that. Now he is trying to correct it.
