Despite United’s stance, moneybags Shandong Luneng are set to table a huge offer for Young and a lucrative contract to see out the rest of his career in the Far East.

West Brom, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Young’s former club Watford have all made contact with United about taking the winger on loan.

All enquiries from the Premier League outfits have been rejected for the England international, who under former boss Louis Van Gaal extended his contract at Old Trafford until June 2018, with an option for a further year.

Young moved to United from Aston Villa in 2011 for £17million after refusing to sign a new deal at Villa Park.

He has gone on to make 150 appearances for United scoring 14 goals and played a major role in the club winning the title in Sir Alex Ferguson's final year in charge.

This season Young has seen his opportunities to impress Mourinho limited, the Portuguese boss has gone for Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of him in wide positions, and the winger has had to settle for a handful of starts at full-back.

Meanwhile United are set to offload flop Memphis Depay this month, the club confirmed they rejected bid from Lyon for the Dutchman who has failed to impress since his big money move from PSV Eindhoven in 2015.
