Manchester United’s frozen-out midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger suffers new blow… Being left out of club’s photoshoot

IT’S not been the best of summers for Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger.

First of all, the German midfielder refused a move to Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon, then we was sent to train with the reserves having been told he has no future at the club by Jose Mourinho.

With just shy of two years left on his current contract at Old Trafford, it looked clear he was set to rot on the bench for possibly the rest of his career – even being cut from the Europa League squad.

Basti, 32, caught a break as it was revealed he and Man United representatives were working on a deal to cut short his nightmare stay in England – potentially freeing him up for a move to the MLS.

However, more recently, despite being named in the Special One’s 25-man Premier League squad, Schweinsteiger was brutally left out of the team photoshoot.

A massive 25 players, six coaches, Jose Mourinho himself and the conditioning coach all made the cut… But no Schweinsteiger.

After a spectacularly trophy-laden career, you’ve got to feel for him…

Anyway, the former German international now looks set for a career alongside Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo and Co in the USA, after insisting United will be his last European club.

Earlier this month, Schweinsteiger said: “The transfer window is closed in the USA so I’m not going there now.

“It’s my dream still to play for Manchester United and if I get a fair chance, I believe in it.

“The USA is certainly an option, should it come to that.”
