Manchester United flop Angelo Henriquez in miss of season during Chile win over Serbia

MANCHESTER UNITED flop Angelo Henriquez may have scooped the miss of the season award during Chile’s international friendly win over Serbia.

With the scores level after 75 minutes, the striker was served up a golden opportunity by winger Junior Fernandes.

But Henriquez, who was a Manchester United player from 2012 to 2015, made a meal of it and spooned the ball wide after it bounced off both his legs.

Fortunately for the former Old Trafford man, who also missed a one-on-one, team-mate Guillermo Maripan bagged a late winner for Chile.

Henriquez is now playing for Mexican outfit Atlas alongside ex-United playmaker Ravel Morrison.

The pair were both tipped for big things but failed to build on their early promise.

World Cup-bound Serbia will be disappointed with their performance as only Henriquez’s wastefulness spared them from a heavy defeat.

United midfielder Nemanja Matic was thrown on for the second half alongside Old Trafford target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

But the duo could not turn things around and Chile were more dangerous after the break, sealing the win as Maripan headed home in the 88th minute.

Serbia’s next warm-up comes against Bolivia on Saturday before their opening Group E match against Costa Rica on 17 June.
