DAVID De Gea’s been a Real Madrid goalkeeper in waiting since he joined Man United from Atletico Madrid six years ago.
A dodgy fax machine was the only thing that kept him at Old Trafford last summer, but rumours have already started linking the 26-year-old with a move to the Bernabeu when the transfer window opens.

De Gea hasn’t been in a United squad since the 2-1 loss to Spurs, with Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira taking the gloves against Southampton and Crystal Palace.
He’s likely to miss out again when United take on Ajax in the Europa League final as Jose Mourinho has played Romero throughout the competition.
So has he played his last game in a United shirt? Plenty of fans seem to think so, judging by his latest Twitter post.

It would be tough on Madrid’s current no.1 Keylor Navas who’s just won a first league title since joining from Levante in 2014.
But Navas’ total of four clean sheets in La Liga this season pales in comparison to De Gea’s tally of 14.
How much that has to do with Madrid’s commitment to attacking football versus Mourinho’s commitment to parking the bus remains to be seen, but De Gea has gone from strength to strength having struggled in his first season in England.

Mourinho has reportedly decided on who he wants to replace De Gea, should the Spaniard leave.
Benfica’s 23-year-old Brazilian Ederson is his first choice and would cost around £26million, according to various reports in Portugal.
At 23 he should reach his prime just in time to replace De Gea at Madrid when he’s over the hill.
De Gea did follow up his tweet with another today though, seemingly showing more support for Manchester United.
It read: “If you believe, you can achieve.”
