MANCHESTER UNITED fans have urged the club to SACK Jose Mourinho after the Red Devils were knocked out of the Champions League.
The Premier League side failed to advance into the quarter-finals after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat against Sevilla at Old Trafford.
Supporters were left bemused by the performance of United, who looked sloppy, lethargic and disinterested.
Much like their showing in Spain three weeks ago, when Mourinho set his side up to play for a goalless draw against a side who look, on paper at least, far inferior.
Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba struggled yet again, while Romelu Lukaku was once again guilty of squandering key chances, despite netting late on.
Wissam Ben Yedder netted twice in quick succession after coming on as a second half substitute as Sevilla reach the last eight in the European Cup for the first time since the 1957/58 season.
Mourinho conceded that the La Liga club deserved the victory, claiming they controlled the game from the first minute.
Speaking to BT Sport after the match, he said: “We tried to be aggressive and intense from the first minute. We didn’t score and Sevilla progressively kept the ball, and they controlled the game well.

“We had good chances to score, but they scored one goal and from that moment everything became much more emotional. The second goal made it impossible.
“We had good periods, we didn’t have great control over the game, but I can’t say there was anything wrong with my players and their intention to play.

“I’m pleased the players aren’t hiding their sadness, but we have no time for drama.”

There's no defending Mourinho tonight. This has been a long time coming. Our luck ran out tonight. Just a sign of what's to come. The sooner we get rid of this tactically inept dinasour the better #SEVMUN

One step forward and two steps backwards under Mourinho. Always need that occasional slap in the face. I am tired honestly.
