MANCHESTER UNITED defender Chris Smalling welcomed a father and son into his box for the game against Swansea – after inviting them at random on Twitter.
Paul Alcock posted on the morning of the Premier League game that he “best get out of bed” as he was heading to Old Trafford with his son, “our Oliver” for the Swansea game.

And within the hour, Smalling, who is currently out of the first-team picture with injury, had tweeted back the father-of-two.
Smalling wrote: “Hi mate are you en-route to Old Trafford?”
Alcock wrote back: I’m here now, why mate?”
Then Smalling told the United fan that he had two tickets for his box, “if they could make it”.

Unsurprisingly, Alcock snapped his hand off, and then the two arranged how it could be worked out.
Although United stumbled to a 1-1 draw that did little to help them cement a top-four spot, it appears father and son were both delighted with their day out.
Alcock wrote on Twitter: “Wow what a day @ChrisSmalling what a guy, think we’re still in shock. Pleasure to meet you, good luck with recovery, thank you.”
And the England centre-half was quick to post a reply, writing: “Pleasure spending the day with you and Oliver, hope you enjoyed yourselves.”
