Manchester United ‘cool interest in Antoine Griezmann and turn attention to Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski’

THE chances of Antoine Griezmann joining Manchester United have reduced as fresh reports suggest he is holding out for a move to Real Madrid.

According to the Independant, the Atletico Madrid forward is not expected to depart the Vicente Calderon this summer and Jose Mourinho is now considering two new targets.

In recent weeks, the Red Devils’ hopes of landing the Griezmann seem to have hit a stumbling block, with Atleti determined to keep hold of the Frenchman for at least another year.

It has also been reported that the only way United can lure the 25-year-old from Spain is if they meet his release clause, which is worth around £86.5million.

With a move not looking likely this summer for Griezmann, United are considering other options in the shape of superstar Lewandowski and prolific youngster Mbappe.

Lewandowski recently signed a new deal with Bayern, meaning the German champions will have no intentions of selling, but United would not be afraid to test the waters.

The Polish striker would join a list of superstars to arrive at Old Trafford under Mourinho’s reign – joining Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Whilst, Mourinho may end up pursuing youngster Mbappe, who has been tipped to become the next Thierry Henry, follow his prolific form with Monaco.

The 18-year-old has been leading the line alongside a rejuvenated Radamel Falcao, with the pair firing Monaco to the top of Ligue 1.

Mbappe has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances this season and has netted seven times in his last six appearances.
