JOSE MOURINHO has taken a break from football to pen an emotional letter to the widow of a late Manchester United fan.
David Green, 32, died in a tragic accident earlier this month when he was working on a building site in Lawford, Essex.

A dumper truck tipped over and killed the father of four, who was such a keen United supporter he even named his eldest sons Harvey Rio and Trafford.

Mourinho was clearly touched when he heard about David’s passing, reports the Colchester Gazette, and decided to write to his widow Jade ahead of tonight's EFL Cup clash with Manchester City.
The letter said: “I have been informed, and was deeply saddened to hear, that your husband David recently passed away in tragic circumstances.
“On behalf of the staff and players at Manchester United, please accept our heartfelt condolences to you and you children Harvey Rio, Trafford, Bentley and Skyla-Jade, including family and friends, on the loss of your loved one.

David’s father-in-law admitted the letter from Mourinho was a surprise, but is thankful to the Portuguese tactician for penning it, adding: “David was an avid Manchester United fan and it was really nice that Jose Mourinho wrote a letter to Jade.
“We don’t know who contacted the club, but the letter was personally signed by Mourinho and all the children are mentioned by name – it’s lovely that they put that sort of effort in.”
