Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is still targeting Champions League football via the Premier League after Chelsea victory
JOSE MOURINHO is targeting the top four places in the Premier League as he sets his sights on the Champions League spots after seeing off Chelsea.
Before Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Chelsea, the Red Devils’ best chance of qualifying for Europe’s elite competition looked to be through winning the Europa League.

But after their impressive display against the league leaders, Mourinho has not given up on the league.
The Special One said: “I’m very happy with the team and the result because Manchester City and Liverpool results left us in the position of ‘we have to win this match’.
“Not even a draw would be a good result for us. So I’m really happy for the boys because we keep two windows open to play Champions League football.
“I cannot give up on the Premier League yet, we have to try.

“If one day we are in the Europa League and in the Premier League the distance is too big [to the top four] then we have to prioritise.
“And nobody can criticise us if in the last matches of the league we do it in a different way, but while it’s mathematically possible we have to go with everything we have.”
Manchester United face Anderlecht in the Europa League before facing two tough away trips to Burnley and Manchester City in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are now fifth in the league and are just four points off their local rivals Man City, who are fourth.
