Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho gives trial to 16-year-old Helsingborg starlet Alex Timossi Andersson, who had a stint at Bayern Munich earlier this season

The youngster only made his debut for the Swedish team at the weekend, in a defeat to Brommapojkarna.

Timossi flew to Man United’s Carrington training facilities on Wednesday, with his trial set to take place next week, according to the Helsinborg boss Per-Ola Ljung.

Mourinho will be casting an eye over the teenager himself – who was even invited to train with Bayern Munich earlier this season.

And Andersson reckons he will be less nervous because of his experience in Germany, according to Swedish outlet Expressen.

He said: "It is of course great that you can go to the team that you have dreamed about since you were little.

"I may not be as nervous as last time [at Bayern]. Now I have a little known of how it is to be in a big club again. Then one is a little easier.

"I'll do as well as I can, then we will see."

Helsingborg boss Ljung confirmed the news his young talent would spend a week in Manchester - and would have done so earlier had it not been for his school commitments.

He added: "We can confirm that he is going to Manchester.

"United have for some time wanted to meet Timossi Andersson, but it was important to not let it come between school.

"We thought it was appropriate to do it now so he does not miss anything in school."
