Manchester City wing flop Nolito close to being offloaded to Sevilla at loss of £6million

MANCHESTER CITY flop Nolito is on the verge of joining Sevilla, according to reports in Spain.

Marca reveals that negotiations between the two clubs are now in the ‘final stretch’ after contacts were resumed a few days ago.

City are about to take a substantial hit on the winger they paid Celta Vigo £13.8million for last year.

It seems the 30-year-old could either go on loan with an obligation for Sevilla to buy Nolito in 2018.

Or there could be an immediate £7.9m permanent transfer.

It’s all so different than when the Spanish international arrived at the Etihad.

Nolito started off at a gallop with six goals and two assists in his first ten games, including a double strike at Stoke City.

But he quickly vanished from Pep Guardiola’s side, barely featuring in the second half of the season.

And Nolito made it clear he wants to quit the Etihad after his first year in England quickly turned sour.

Celta could yet make a last-ditch bid to re-sign him.

Ideally City would like Nolito off their books, so should Sevilla plump only for the loan option there could be a change of plan.

Said Celta president Felipe Minambres: "Nolito is an important player and he would be a significant signing should he choose to return.

"I understand that he wants to have more first-team football and it would be good for him if he returned to play in our team."

Nolito earns £70,000 per week at City and both Celta and Sevilla have apparently told his camp they can get close to matching his current salary.
