Manchester City trio Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane were on top form in Crystal Palace win
MANCHESTER CITY scored five against Crystal Palace and the link-up between Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane was in full effect.
I can see why Pep Guardiola likes the three of them playing together, even if City were more of a 4-1-4-1 shape, because they work very effectively.

The last time City came close to scoring five in the Premier League was when they put four past West Ham in February — and Guardiola used the same combination then.

ANFIELD TRAP
Liverpool had 65 per cent of possession against Southampton — but they rarely looked like breaking them down.
When the Reds have Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi as their attacking targets, most teams would fancy their chances of defending crosses against them.

It does not mean Liverpool should go for long balls — but maybe they do need to have an option and a target who could be more effective.

VIC SOOTHES
In five of Sunderland’s six wins this season, Victor Anichebe has played. The striker has been injured a lot this term — but when I have seen them without him playing, there has been nobody on the pitch who has been able to stop Jermain Defoe from becoming isolated.

YES, NDIDI
Wilfred Ndidi scored the opener as Leicester secured their Prem status, but it is defensive solidity which has been the base from which the Foxes have built.

Ndidi is the man who stays between the midfield and the defence and protects the centre-backs — the job N’Golo Kante did for them last season.
He has been a huge factor in Leicester keeping four clean sheets in their last six games.
UNITED’S BIG GAMBLE
It is very risky for Manchester United to go all out to win the Europa League as their route to the Champions League.
I can see why Jose Mourinho is banking on qualifying for the Champions League through the Europa League this seasonEPA
But there is some sense in it, because winning the Europa League would give them an automatic place in the group stage next season.
If they finished fourth, they would still have to play a qualifying round in August.
That is why I believe boss Jose Mourinho has gone down that path.
