Bony, 27, has finished the formalities to join up with Mark Hughes’ squad, with the Potters boss looking to strengthen his attack and launching a bid for West Brom’s Saido Berahino.

Landing Berahino has proved difficult but negotiations for Bony has been easier – the ex-Swansea forward is desperate for regular first-team football after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola has not played Bony in City’s five victories this season, with Sergio Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho leading their attack.

Bony will go straight into contention for the home clash against Tottenham straight after the international break.
