Manchester City transfer news: Monaco ace Fabinho close to signing for City ahead of rivals United
MANCHESTER CITY are close to signing Monaco defender Fabinho, according to reports.
The report comes from Barcelona-based journalist Gerard Romero, who revealed Nolito, Leroy Sane and John Stones’ Etihad moves before City announced them.

Pep Guardiola is in the market for a new right-back following the summer departure of Pablo Zabaleta.
But Fabinho, who can also play as a defensive central midfielder, could find himself filling the role Yaya Toure has played this season in the middle of the park.
Moneybags City will have no problem paying the £25million price tag which Fabinho has.

United are also thought to be keen on a move for the Monaco ace.
But City will be buoyed by Fabinho’s dad’s comments back in February.
He said: “We like Manchester United and Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City.”
Fabinho is contracted to the Ligue 1 champions until 2021.
