FERNANDINHO is close to penning a new bumper two-year contract extension at Manchester City.
The Brazilian would have been available on a free next summer when his existing deal at the Etihad expires.

City want the midfielder, however, signed up to his new deal by the turn of the year.
The 31-year-old had been delaying the extension to see how much he figured in Pep Guardiola’s plans, but having been a regular under the former Barcelona boss, he is finally ready to sign.
Things are not going as smoothly for the league leaders in their talks with promising teenage defender Tosin Adarabioyo.
