And the BBC claims Spurs could be willing to sell after right-back rival Kieran Trippier signed a new five-year contract.

City are in dire need of reinforcements after letting Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna leave on free transfers.

Ex-Juventus and Barcelona star Dani Alves is believed to be arriving on a free transfer.

While Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy looks set to replace Gael Clichy, who was also released from his contract last month.

Signing Walker would help City fill their home-grown quota in the Premier League and Champions League next season.

While regular football under Pep Guardiola could help the 27-year-old secure England’s right-back spot ahead of Liverpool ace Nathaniel Clyne permanently.
