MARTIN DEMICHELIS failed to set the Premier League alight during a three-year spell with Manchester City.
And the Argentine’s career continues to dwindle after being released by mid-table La Liga outfit Espanyol just six months into his contract.

Demichelis, 36, joined the Spaniards on a free transfer last summer after being released from the Etihad.
But he made just two league appearances and has now been shown the door ahead of a reported move to the MLS.
Espanyol confirmed: “On Tuesday, Martin Demichelis and Espanyol reached an agreement to split the Argentine defender’s contract from the club.
“The player, who was under contract until 20 June 2017, will begin a new experience.

“Demichelis joined the club in the summer as a free agent and played two league matches against Eibar and Real Betis, and the Super Cup final in Catalonia.
“The club thanks the player for his professionalism and commitment to the club, and wish him luck in his new sporting stage.”
