MANCHESTER CITY have joined the race to sign Angers forward Nicolas Pepe, who is also being tracked by Newcastle and Watford.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in Ligue 1 after starring for his side, as they finished 12th in the table in his first season playing in the top-flight.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Pep Guardiola is interested in luring the Ivory Coast international over to the Etihad Stadium.
Both the Hornets and the Magpies are believed to have lodged bids for Pepe, where an offer of £15million is reported to be enough to acquire his services.
Fellow French side Lille are also rumoured to hold a strong interest in the former Orleans star, but are so refusing to budge on their offer of around £7million.

Pepe has recently declared he wanted to carry on his career playing in Ligue 1, but the opportunity to link up with Guardiola as well as the promise of Champions League football could be enough to prize him away.
In the report from the French news outlet, they claim he would be sent on a season-long loan deal if he were to link up with the Citizens.
He was a key member of the side that lost 1-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France, as Les Scoistes conceded an injury time own goal through Issa Cissokho.
In 39 games in all competitions in the 2016/17 season, Pepe chipped in with three goals and a solitary assist, but his quick feet and his defensive contributions have caught the attention of a host of top clubs.
