Manchester City exile Samir Nasri looks to impress Pep Guardiola in training as hard work continues on US pre-season tour

SAMIR NASRI took part in Manchester City training as he holds out a slim hope of staying at the club next season.

The French midfielder has been linked with an exit from the club – with teammates apparently desperate to get the ‘arrogant’ star out of  the Etihad.

And Benjamin Mendy was also pictured at the session, although the most expensive defender ever didn’t take part in the full session as he recovers from a minor injury.

Pep Guardiola made the surprise decision to include Nasri on his pre-season tour of the US.

Having spent last year on loan at Sevilla, Nasri was expected to leave this summer, especially as the 30-year-old takes home £120,000-a-week.

His inclusion on the touring party was said to upset some of the senior City players, souring the mood in the camp.

Earlier this week it was reported that some players dislike his “arrogant” attitude and want him to return to Manchester.

City’s attempts to find a club for the former France international have been hit by a Uefa probe into doping by Nasri.

The midfielder visited Los Angeles clinic Drip Doctors last December – causing a storm as his former girlfriend claimed he cheated on her at the clinic – and may have received intravenous treatment.

If found guilty, Nasri is facing a four-year ban.

City play their second pre-season game against Real Madrid overnight.

They lost their first match in California to rivals Manchester United.

United also beat Real on penalties at the weekend.
