Manchester City bid £16.7million to land Brazilian youth international Gabriel Jesus
MANCHESTER CITY’S new boss Pep Guardiola has bid £16.7million to land one of Brazil’s hottest properties, Gabriel Jesus from under United and Bayern Munich’s noses.
The Palmeiras striker, 19, has long been a target for a host of European giants, but City have made the first real move.
Brazil Under-23s striker Gabriel Jesus could be on his way to Manchester City after new boss Pep Guardiola tabled a £16.7million bid, matching his release clause
Earlier this week, both Liverpool and Manchester United left the race to land the Brazilian youth international.
But former Bayern Munich boss Guardiola has matched the youngster's release fee clause.
Jesus in fact has TWO release clauses, one allowing City, Barca, Bayern, United, Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid to land him for just £16.7m.
Pep Guardiola is hoping to land Gabriel Jesus after joining Man City fresh from winning the league and cup double with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich
The other allows any team on the planet to get their hands on him, but for the princely sum of £27.8m.
However, Pep and his Man City outfit do face stiff competition from La Liga champions Barcelona.

Barca have bid £13.2m - £3.5m under his 'special' release clause - to land Jesus.
The Catalan giants' hierarchy regard Jesus as the long-term successor to the unsettled Neymar - who may be on the move himself this summer.
Meanwhile, Serie A winners Juventus have also bid for the young forward, tabling a £14.6m bid.
Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus is one of the hottest properties in world football with Man City, Barcelona and Juventus just three teams to have tabled bids
If City's bid is accepted and Jesus accepts personal terms, the club will still need to buy out his third-party owners to officially register him as a Premier League player.
Jesus has turned out six times for the Brazil Under-20s, netting an impressive five goals, while playing a further four times for the Under-23 side, bagging three.
His 60 first team appearances - despite still only being 19-years-old - have yielded a solid return of 20 goals, including 13 in 23 in 2016 alone.
