Majority of Premier League open to safe standing area in stadiums but Liverpool remain against proposals
TOP Premier League clubs could be in line to pilot safe standing at their grounds after chiefs quizzed the teams on their thoughts.
Safe standing has been piloted in Scotland, with Celtic Park the most famous venue to add the fixtures to its tiers, which many fans believe adds atmosphere.

According to MailOnline, Liverpool would be reluctant to agree to the scheme following the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989 and in which 96 fans died.
Following the disaster the Taylor Report was published and many English football grounds became all-seater in a bid to improve safety – and the move has worked.

But many other clubs are likely to put their hands up to pilot such schemes, with the likes of Old Trafford and St James’ Park, as well as smaller grounds like the Vitality Stadium and Turf Moor, likely to benefit from the extra atmosphere.
Although those clubs have not confirmed their stance, many observers believe German football has stolen a march on the Prem by adding electric atmospheres at their grounds with safe standing.
Arenas like Borussia Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion can increase capacity from 65,000 to 81,000 by allowing safe standing.
