LYON have blasted false reports that their midfield ace Mathieu Valbuena had died.
Twitter trolls spread the false rumour yesterday the 32-year-old France international had passed away.

And his Ligue 1 club were forced to tweet: “Mathieu Valbuena is happily alive and well contrary to what those despicable individuals are spreading on Twitter.
“Lyon are horrified at such disgraceful and inhuman acts.”
Valbuena missed his side’s 2-1 win at Toulouse on Saturday through injury.
He left the pitch in tears after dislocating his shoulder during a 3-1 defeat to Guingamp last week.

The playmaker, 32, has been dogged by bad luck over the years.
He was involved in a car crash on Christmas Eve 2010 when he lost control of his Lamborghini but escaped unhurt.
Valbuena was targeted in a sex-tape blackmail affair that led to his France team-mate Karim Benzema being charged and forcing him to miss his country’s Euro 2016 campaign.
Real Madrid ace Benzema denies any wrong-doing.

Valbuena is just the latest star to be targeted by false death reports.
Beatles legend Paul McCartney, actor Jackie Chaan, singer Cher and rapper Eminem have all been victims.
