Luke Shaw hopes to finish season on a high after taking Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho’s fierce criticism ‘on board’
LUKE SHAW hopes to finish his season on a high — after taking Jose Mourinho’s criticism “on board”.
The Manchester United star has been publicly battered by his manager multiple times this season.

After last Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Everton, Mourinho claimed he made “every decision” for second-half substitute Shaw, who he says “has to change his football brain”.
But the former Southampton left-back played an hour of United’s next match — Sunday’s win at struggling Sunderland.
And Shaw is now feeling smiles better as he also looks set to start tomorrow night’s Europa League quarter-final first-leg away at Anderlecht.
The England international, 21, said: “I’ve got a massive smile on my face.
“It was great to have got 60 minutes under my belt away at Sunderland.
“All-in-all I feel really good, really fit and really confident.

“I just want to keep playing now. I just want to work hard in training and keep playing games.
“I took what the manager said on board and I will work hard until the end.
“I want to be at this place and hopefully I can carry on giving great performances for the club until the end of the season.”
Shaw has only featured in three of United’s Europa League matches so far — two group stage games against Fenerbahce and the home fixture with Feyenoord, which the Red Devils comfortably won 4-0.
And he is desperate to play a prominent part in a competition which could lead to a final in Sweden, having been left out of the squad for February’s EFL Cup final win over his old club Southampton.

Shaw, who cost United £33million in 2014, admitted: “I am trying to impress the manager because these games at the end are the big games.
“I’d love to play in the games coming up and especially in the Europa League to help the team push towards the final.
“It is a really big opportunity for us to get to the final.
“The final, the semis, the quarters-finals are the games you want to be playing in.”
Shaw also thinks United should have too much for the Belgian outfit if they play to their potential.

He added: “Anderlecht will be tough — every team left in this stage of the competition will have quality.
“We’ve got to focus on what their strengths and weaknesses are.
“But most of all we need to focus on ourselves, what we do and how we play.
“With the players we have got, we can be unstoppable.
“The Europa League is a massive thing for us now, it’s a trophy and it gives us qualification for the Champions League.
“I think we have to look at that as the priority now. We’ve got to fight for that.”
