LORIS KARIUS may have destroyed his career with his Champions League howlers, fears Germany legend Oliver Kahn.
Karius‘ two extraordinary errors gifted Karim Benzema the opener and Gareth Bale the clincher in Real Madrid’s 3-1 Champions League final victory.

The German was in tears afterwards as he went over to say sorry to Liverpool fans .
And compatriot Kahn, a legend for Bayern Munich and his country, told German TV station ZDF: “I’m lost for words.
“I can’t remember having experienced something more brutal from a goalkeeping point of view than in this final.
“An evening like this can destroy a career.”

Not even an incredible overhead goal from Bale – inbetween Karius’ two second-half gaffes – deflected much attention from the former Germany Under-21 international.
And Karius, 24, has made no attempt to hide the guilt he feels.

Today he posted an Instagram message, next to a photo of him collecting his finalist medal, saying: “Haven’t really slept until now… the scenes are still running through my head again and again…
“I’m infinitely sorry to my teammates, for you fans, and for all the staff.
“I know that I messed it up with the two mistakes and let you all down.

“As I said I’d just like to turn back the time but that’s not possible.
“It’s even worse as we all felt that we could have beaten Real Madrid and we were in the game for a long time.
“Thank you to our unbelievable fans who came to Kiev and held my back, even after the game.
“I don’t take that for granted and once again it showed me what a big family we are.
“Thank you and we will come back stronger.”
Earlier the ex-Mainz 05 stopper told TalkSPORT: “It’s very hard right now but that’s the life of a goalkeeper.
“These goals cost us the title, basically.”
