Liverpool transfer news: Uruguay teenage ace Agustin Davila wants to join Kop after successful two-week trial at Anfield club

URUGUAYAN whizkid Agustin Davila is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Luis Suarez at Liverpool after impressing during a two-week trial.

The 17-year-old striker is currently playing for Atletico Penarol in his native South American country where he was spotted by Kop scouts playing for the club’s youth side Juveniles Penarol.

And Davila, a pacy forward, did enough to convince Liverpool’s academy director Alex Inglethorpe he could be a star of the future under boss Klopp.

He was on target in Liverpool’s friendly win over Walsall and top scored at Under-14s, Under-15s and Under-17s at club level in Uruguay.

Davila has netted more than 100 goals for the South American club’s youth side although injury while playing for the Under-16s ended hopes of being leading scorer over four consecutive years.

Uruguay superstar Suarez was a Liverpool hero after bagging 82 goals in  133 appearances for them over four seasons between 2010 and 2014. He joined Barcelona in July 2014 for £75million.

The main stumbling block for Davila signing for the Kop side is whether he would gain a work permit.

Should Liverpool fail to land the strike ace then club's in Italy and Spain are interested in signing him.

Davila comes from a football family as his grandfather, Walkir Silva, who also played for Penarol, scored against Aston Villa in the 1982 Intercontinental Cup in Japan.
