MO SALAH has shown he has not forgotten his roots by donating £27,000 to a charity helping out retired Egyptian footballers.
The Liverpool winger has loosened his purse strings to help out the Association of Veteran Egyptian Players, who provide support for ex-footballers struggling to make ends meet.

The money will help around 120 families, reports Egyptian news-site King Fut.
Some of these families have a monthly income of as little as £16.65.
Salah is heralded in his home country, not least for all the charitable activities he takes the lead with.
The Daily Mail reported recently how he has bought gym equipment, paid for marriages and presented youth football trophies in his home town of Nagrig.

It all goes towards him being the apple of Egypt’s eye.
This of course was helped by him scoring the winning goal against Congo back in October that sent his nation to their first World Cup for 28 years.

Salah cracked another two goals yesterday against Leicester to add to what has been a tremendous first season with the Anfield side.
He has bagged 17 goals in just 19 starts for Liverpool since joining from Roma for £34million this summer.
