Liverpool star Adam Lallana sent off in Under-23s clash for grabbing rival’s throat

ADAM LALLANA faces a three-match ban after grabbing Tottenham whizkid George Marsh by the throat.

The Reds ace was playing for the Under-23s when he reacted angrily to a challenge.

March caught Lallana with his elbow and the England international snapped.

He raced towards the 19-year-old before grabbing him around the neck from behind.

Red cards for violent conduct carry a minimum three-week ban but can be extended in extreme cases.

Lallana missed the Reds’ clashes with West Brom, Huddersfield and Tottenham due to a groin problem.

He was making his injury comeback tonight but now faces another spell on the sidelines.

Jurgen Klopp decided not to replace Philippe Coutinho with another attacking midfielder after Barcelona finally landed their man.

And that decision could leave the Reds short as they look to consolidate their top-four position.
