LIVERPOOL are understood to have made Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon one of their main transfer targets this summer.

The 16-year-old left-back, who has been compared to Gareth Bale, is being tracked by a host of top clubs.

Manchester City and Tottenham are keen, while Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton have also monitored the youngster this season.

He became the first player born after the millennium to score in the English professional leagues when he netted against Cardiff last August.

The Londoner also scored twice as Fulham beat title favourites Newcastle 3-1 last month, taking his tally to six this term.

He has become a key player for the Cottagers as they chase a play-off spot in the highly competitive division.

“The opportunities I have had this season have been great and on a personal note I just want to help the team gain promotion to the Premier League, where we belong.

“I don’t pay too much attention to it [transfer speculation] I just focus on one job and that is playing for Fulham.”

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic says Sessegnmon is destined for the very top.

“He is only 16 years old but he is 100 per cent going to be in the highest level soon,” said the Serb.

“But I am enjoying working with him and I want to use him in my squad for a long time, he will shine in the future.”
