Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp closing in on £8m for Hull’s Scottish full-back Andy Robertson

LIVERPOOL are close to agreeing a £8million move for Hull left-back Andy Robertson.

It is believed negotiations for the 23-year-old are all but complete, and Robertson will become Liverpool’s third signing of the summer following the arrival of Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and Roma’s Mohamed Salah.

Robertson signed from Dundee United for £2.85m in 2014.

Despite Hull City struggling in the past three years and have recently been relegated from the Premier League, the left-back has impressed massively.

He made his debut for Scotland in a friendly against Poland in March 2014 and has gone on to earn a further 14 caps.

Robertson’s fee is believed to be agreed in the region of £8m a relatively cheap asking price.

This is down to the fact that Robertson only has a year remaining on his contract with Hull and is set on playing Premier League football.

The Scotsman has a good chance of becoming Liverpool’s first choice full-back as their other alternatives, James Milner, a natural midfielder, and Alberto Moreno, who the German boss does not rate.

Liverpool, in signing Robertson, will beat a number of Premier League rivals to the signing.

Both Burnley and Watford have expressed interest in the defender but Liverpool are the clear favourites.
