Pinamonti could cost around £2million, but he has only made two senior first team appearances and has yet to score a goal.

The Italy Under-19 international has scored three goals at that age group though but has been disappointed by a lack of first-team opportunities so far at the San Siro.

He is currently Luciano Spalletti’s fifth-choice forward behind Mauro Icardio, Eder, Matias Vecino and Yann Karamoh.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, PSG and Serie A rivals Juventus have also shown an interest in Pinamonti.

He signed a new contract last year but his career trajectory is yet to take off, but Inter fans must be wondering why he is not getting more game time if other European clubs are showing so much interest.

The last starlet the Reds signed from the Nerazzurri was Philippe Coutinho, who turned into an absolute gem for the Merseysiders, before he left for Barcelona for big bucks earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Wolves have claimed victory over Liverpool in another department, after Anfield and Manchester United target Ruben Neves committed his future to the Molineux club.

Neves, 21, will be playing first-team football in the Premier League next season after Wanderers were promoted to the top flight, winning the Championship at a canter.

And the Reds could make Emre Can’s likely exit work for them if they manage to bolster their midfield with the capture of Sami Khedira.

The World Cup winner could give Jurgen Klopp some reprieve ahead of next season, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s recuperation from knee ligament damage likely to stray well into next term and Can’s exit near certain.
