LIONEL MESSI chewed on something hidden in his sock on his way to another record-breaking night.
The Barcelona striker scored his 100th goal in all Uefa competition in a 3-1 win over Olympiakos at the Nou Camp – and apparently, the secret to success is in his socks.

In the 10th minute at the Nou Camp, Messi was shown on cameras reaching for a pill in his socks.
The Argentine then chewed on it before going on to add another record to his tally.
According to reports in Spain, Messi was eating a glucose tablet for an energy boost.
Messi scored one and made one for Lucas Digne – while Olympiakos man Dimitris Nikolaou scored at both ends – meaning Gerard Pique’s red did not spoil the night.
The Nou Camp roared into life with the opener, Gerard Deulofeu’s teasing cross lured Nikolaou into sticking out a lazy leg that diverted the ball into the net.
Just before half time Gerard Pique was sent off for a yellow-card double, the second a needless handled goal attempt.

But the numerical disadvantage did not wreck Barca’s perfect group record,
Nikolaou fouled the world’s best player on the edge of the Olympiakos box and the Barca master whipped a saveable free-kick over the wall and past a befuddled Silvio Proto.

Messi then turned provider when he raced the byline before finding Lucas Digne lurking at the back post to crash the ball home.
And Nikolaou got some personal pride back and a goal for his side when he rose highest at a late corner to head home a peach.
