Lincoln City goalkeeper Paul Farman causes goal to collapse following warm-up fall

LINCOLN CITY FC goalkeeper Paul Farman fell into the back of the net and caused the goal posts to COLLAPSE.

The unlucky keeper was having a kick-a-round with team-mates as part of a training drill before their game with Forest Green Rovers last month.

But as the 28-year-old tried to header the coach’s over-hit pass, he can be seen comically stumbling back and getting tangled up in the net.

The whole of the goal frame then suddenly collapses sending Farman flying over advertising hoarding and into the stands.

Amazingly, the player was uninjured and went on to start the game – even keeping a clean sheet during The Imps’ 1-0 victory in League Two.

The footage of the gaffe has since been uploaded to social media where it has been viewed over 30,000 times.

Fans quickly took to the internet to poke run at the red-faced keeper – who started his career at Newcastle United.

Ryan Locke wrote: “Epic fail. If he can’t keep himself out of the net, how can is he supposed to keep the ball out?”

James Wynn added: “That looks painful. Amazing that he was fine and went on to play. Fair play. A Premier League player would probably be out for three months after that.”

Liam Chester put: “Going…going..gone.Love how he puts his hands up to try and stop the net falling. And the other goalies just putting their hands on their heads. Priceless.”

Tal Singh added: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a goalkeeper score with himself. The posts get absolutely demolished. Lol”

Farman was training with fellow’ keepers Josh Vickers and Richard Walton under the supervision of coach Jimmy Walker before the away match on September 12.
