English, Scottish and Irish football has been united in outpourings of grief for the 36-year-old.
And United are set to pay tribute to their former player with black armbands.
Miller was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson from Celtic with high hopes and was blooded by the Scot in the 2004-05 season, but found it hard to establish himself in United’s legendary midfield.
He later moved to Sunderland, then Hibernian, Perth Glory, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City.

After his stint Down Under, Miller moved to Cork City and then Wimington Hammerheads in the USL, the tier underneath the MLS.
Miller won 21 caps for the Republic of Ireland between 2004 and 2009.
Quiet, unassuming and highly thought of by his team-mates, the former footballer has left behind a young family.
Former Ireland midfielder Kevin Doyle described Miller as a “gentleman” while Kevin Kilbane said: “Proud to have shared a dressing room with him over the years.”
