Lewis Hamilton: Mercedes driver pulls out of tyre tests claiming he feels unwell

LEWIS HAMILTON was left sick of the sight of his Mercedes after crying off early from the team’s tyre test in Abu Dhabi.

Hamilton, who was heartbroken to see rival Nico Rosberg snatch his world crown last Sunday, was scheduled to complete a full day of testing at the Yas Marina Circuit.

They was some suggestion he would not turn up at the team’s garage in protest after they ordered him to speed up during Sunday’s race instead of backing into a fight with Rosberg.

However, the 31-year-old DID turn up for work – but last only a handful of laps before complaining of feeling unwell.

Mercedes confirmed the Brit was not able to drive and he was replaced by reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein, who completed the running on the new wider Pirelli tyres that will come in for next season.

It is not the first time Hamilton has cried off for a crucial test. He missed the tyre test in Barcelona in October citing a sore foot.

It remains to be seen if Hamilton is well enough to attend the FIA prize giving ceremony in Vienna this Friday.
