Leicester to loan whizkid Layton Ndukwu to De Graafschap as they plan to give him first-team shot next season

LEICESTER are ready to accept a loan offer for Layton Ndukwu before the youngster competes for a first-team place next season.

The Foxes have been asked about the 19-year-old forward moving to Dutch club De Graafschap for the rest of the season.

And boss Claude Puel is prepared to let the teenager get senior football under his belt away from the King Power Stadium.

Ndukwu has been training with first-team during the current campaign and there are hopes he can break into the first team.

But rather than bolster his Under-23 games with sub appearances, Puel wants to see how Ndukwu performs regularly in Holland.

De Graafschap head coach Henk de Jong watched Ndukwu last week when the England youth international played against Manchester United in a youth game.

And he has offered him the chance to play more senior football than he would behind Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki in the pecking order at Leicester.

De Graafschap are sixth in the Dutch second division, which features plenty of young talent including youth teams from Ajax, PSV and AZ.
