Leicester City’s departure from the Champions League is GOOD news for Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City and Arsenal
LEICESTER CITY’S Champions League dream is over but their departure is GOOD news for their Premier League rivals.
Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal – who are all vying for a place in the top four – now have more of a chance of playing in Europe’s elite competition next term.

While Chelsea and Tottenham seem all but certain to grab the top two places in the Premier League, there are doubts regarding fourth place.
Because if Leicester defied the odds and won the Champions League and Man Utd went on to win the Europa League, the fourth spot would not mean qualification for the Champions League.

The maximum any country can have playing in the Champions League is five.
Only England, Spain and Germany can possibly enter fives teams as they are the top three associations in UEFA and are awarded the four coveted Champions League spots.
It used to be only four regardless of what happened in the previous season.
In the past, Everton and Spurs have finished fourth and missed out due to Liverpool and Chelsea respectively winning the Champions League.
