Leeds United’s new badge and the ten worst club crests in world football

LEEDS unveiled their new club badge… and took an absolute pummelling for its “absolutely awful” design.

The Elland Road side insisted their controversial new crest was “an expression of the passion that connects Leeds United’s fans and players”.

But they are from the only ones with a questionable crest.

Leeds’ new crest has caused plenty of controversy

Here, SunSport looks at some of the worst in the game that someone, somehow, somewhere thought would be a good idea.

Hamburg

The Hamburg badge could have been so much better

A white square inside a black square inside a white square, titled on their sides, on a blue blackground.

Surely something better could have been imagines?

Lincoln City FC

What can you say about Lincoln’s badge?

Lincoln’s badge certainly is, uh, unique.

Let us know if you know of anyone who looks like this.

Burton Albion

Burton Albion’s badge

An overweight man hoofing a ball.

Surely more apt for a Sunday League team?

Colchester United

The badge of Colchester

Did the eagle fly into a window and remain their, slowly fossilising?

Dudley Town FC

The crest of Dudley Town FC

This one makes it appear that someone stood on a lizard, crushing it to death in the process.

Erith & Belvedere FC

Erith & Belvedere have this badge

Let’s look at this one closely.

A drawing of a deer and the nickname ‘The Deres’. Did it not cross anyone’s mind that everyone may think the club have just spelled ‘deers’ incorrectly?

FC Sheriff Tiraspol

FC Sheriff Tiraspol

Moldovan side Sheriff are , believe it or not, owned by a company called Sheriff and play at the Sheriff stadium.

Somebody call the cops, because this logo is horrendous.

Alloa

Alloa’s dodgy crest

Wasps are capable of inflicting pain on humans without the help of steroids.

Pump them full of human growth hormone and they end up looking like this beast.

Limon FC

Limon FC’s interesting crest

A green hurricane (or is it a tornado?) kicks a football while tensing its bicep and wearing a crown.

Answers on a postcard please.

AS Marsa

Have you ever seen a club crest like this before?

A camel in obvious pain trying to kick a ball. It shouldn’t be allowed.
