LEEDS UNITED have announced the signing of goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald from Werder Bremen.
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Whites in a deal believed to be in the region of £500,000.
Wiedwald becomes Leeds’ second new arrival of the summer, following Mateusz Klich to the club, while Hadi Sacko also made last season’s loan spell permanent.
The ‘keeper is a former Under-20 international and will provide competition for last season’s No1 Rob Green.
Leeds’ new boss Thomas Christiansen now has four goalkeepers at Elland Road with Wiedwald, Green, Marco Silvestri and youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Last season Wiedwald made 25 appearances in the Bundesliga, helping Werder Bremen to an eighth placed finish.
Meanwhile, Leeds have also captured former Liverpool prospect Madger Gomes on a three-year deal.
The 20-year-old will initially join the club’s Under-23 side with the hope of progressing into the first-team squad.

There is a lot positivity around Leeds United this summer under the new ownership of Andrea Radrizzani.
This comes after he repurchased Elland Road in a deal which is believed to worth roughly £20million.
The Italian businessman said: “Today is an important day in our history and a proud day for me and my team.
“When I met with management and supporters during my first few months at the club the purchase of Elland Road was very high on their list of priorities and I’m delighted to be able to announce that we have completed that process today.”
