Leeds star Pontus Jansson clashes with pitch invader during dramatic draw against Newcastle

LEEDS UNITED defender Pontus Jansson stood toe to toe with a fan who ran onto the field during Newcastle’s draw at St James’ Park.

The Swede was pictured clashing with the fan before the supporter was chased down by stewards and pulled to the ground.

The confrontation took place during the blockbuster Championship clash, which saw Chris Wood score a 95th-minute equaliser, to cancel out Jamaal Lascelles’ opener.

Leeds United tweeted to say play was halted after the supporter bowed down to Rob Green – who had a storming performance in the Leeds goal.

The fan then reportedly tried hugging Jansson, but it resulted in the defender pushing away the pitch invader.
