LAZIO‘s recent problems continue after it was revealed they sold just ELEVEN season tickets on the first day of sale.
The fallen Italian giants finished eighth in Serie A last season and there is major fan unrest at president Claudio Lotito’s running of the club following the departure of boss Marcelo Bielsa after just 48 hours.

There have been protests in the streets of Rome after Bielsa handed in his resignation due to unkept transfer promises – and the fans blame Lotito.
Already an unpopular figure due to his shady history, the entrepreneur was banned from football for two and a half years in 2006 for his part in the Italian football scandal.

Bielsa was scathing of the Italian, who has owned the club since 2004, and believes that promises given to him before he took the job didn’t come to fruition.
He wrote in a message to fans: “After four weeks working together with you [the fans], we could not sign any of the seven additions in the work programme expressly approved by the president, Claudio Lotito.

“We also take into account the departure of 18 players who were involved in the previous season.
“It was agreed as essential to the implementation of the work programme that we would sign at least four footballers before July 5, with the objective that they would be able to participate in pre-season.”

The early cracks were there for all to see last season when just 12,800 season tickets were sold last term for the 72,698 capacity Stadio Olimpico.

It’s been sixteen years since Le Aquile last won the league, although they have won the Coppa Italia three times since Lotito took over in 2004.
But with incomings looking unlikely as the backroom situation worsens, Chelsea are looking to swoop for wantaway star Antonio Candreva.
